   Water ring type Vacuum Pumps

Water ring type Rotary Machines are principally used as vacuum pumps.

However they can also function as compressors in specific cases. They are simple and trouble free in operation .They are good at handling moist air as well as aggressive gases provided the material of construction is properly selected .

Gases containing dust can also be handled without problem .

water ring Vacuum Pumps /Compressors are absolutely free from oil and there is no risk of contamination to the medium passing through it. The ring fluid acts as seal and it also absorbs  the heat generated during compression .Depending on Gases to be handled, different fluids can be used for sealing instead of water.

 In the conventional Single stage vacuum pump the performance after 70% (525 mmHg) vacuum falls down drastically. Whereas the two stage vacuum pumps gives better performance after 70% vacuum. Normally the vacuum pump requires to run consistently between 70 to 90% vacuum.

In first stage, after creating vacuum up to 70% , the compressed air /vapour mist with sealing media is led to the IInd stage working chamber via crossover manifold. IInd stage enhances the vacuum generated by Ist stage.

This way, two stage water ring vacuum pump gives nearly 50% more volumetric efficiency after 70% vacuum with the same Electric Motor rating. This results in saving of nearly 50% power.
